Online Streamer Reports Email Threat of Possible Swatting Lakeville MA
Lakeville, Mass. — Online Streamer Reports Email Threat Suggesting SWAT Response
An online streamer in Lakeville reported receiving an email threatening what appeared to be a possible swatting incident, according to information published by CrimeRadar from public police dispatch audio.
The incident was reported Friday, August 14, 2026, involving a residence near Rush Pond Road in Lakeville.
According to the dispatch transcript reviewed by Plimoth Today, a business-line caller contacted police and reported that she was an online streamer with a publicly accessible online presence. The caller told police she had received an email that contained a message suggesting that a SWAT team was “incoming,” according to the transcript.
The caller reportedly was unsure whether the person who sent the message knew her actual address but wanted to document the incident with police.
An officer was requested to speak with the woman regarding the reported threat. The dispatch information indicates that she planned to wait outside in a driveway while officers responded.
CrimeRadar’s account states that the location involved was a relative’s residence near Rush Pond Road. The caller reportedly said she would wait in a Tesla in the driveway while awaiting police.
The report highlights a growing concern for people who maintain public-facing online profiles, particularly streamers and content creators whose personal information can sometimes be targeted by individuals attempting to intimidate or harass them.
Swatting generally refers to making a false emergency report in an attempt to trigger an armed police response at another person’s residence. The practice can create serious risks for residents, responding officers and others in the area.
However, there is currently no information in the CrimeRadar dispatch transcript confirming that an actual swatting occurred in this Lakeville case. The available information indicates that an online streamer reported receiving a threatening email and contacted police.
CrimeRadar also cautions that its transcript is automatically generated from live dispatch audio and may be incomplete or inaccurate. The service states that the information is not an official police report and may change.
Plimoth Today has not independently confirmed the identity of the streamer, the sender of the email, or whether anyone was ultimately arrested or charged in connection with the reported threat.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office maintains a Cyber Crimes Unit that investigates online crimes involving social media and other internet-related activity.
