Hingham, Mass. — Bradley Rein Arrested Over Alleged Ankle Monitor Violation as Apple Store Crash Case Continues
HINGHAM, Mass. — Bradley Rein, the Hingham man facing murder and other charges in connection with the fatal 2022 crash at the Apple Store at Derby Street Shops, is expected in court Monday following a new arrest involving his court-ordered electronic monitoring.
According to WHDH, Rein was arrested by Hingham police after authorities accused him of violating the terms of his ankle-monitor requirement. WHDH reported that Rein is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Brockton Superior Court.

The latest development comes as Rein continues to await trial in the case stemming from the November 2022 crash that sent a 2019 Toyota 4Runner through the front of the Apple Store at Derby Street Shops.
The crash killed Kevin Bradley, 65, of Wayne, New Jersey, and injured numerous other people.
Rein pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, including second-degree murder and motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office has previously confirmed that Rein was required to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet as a condition of his release. The DA’s office said in a prior case update that Rein’s bail conditions also prohibited him from operating a motor vehicle, leaving Massachusetts without permission and possessing weapons.
The DA’s office previously sought to revoke Rein’s bail after authorities reported losing contact with his GPS monitoring device. Prosecutors said at the time that Hingham police made multiple visits to his residence after contact with the device was lost.
WHDH reported that Monday’s court appearance is related to the latest alleged violation of Rein’s monitoring conditions.
The original Apple Store crash occurred on November 21, 2022. According to prosecutors, Rein was driving the Toyota 4Runner when it crashed through the store’s front glass. The Plymouth County DA’s Office previously said investigators determined the SUV accelerated to approximately 60 mph during the seconds before the crash, with no indication of brake usage during that period. Rein told investigators that his foot became stuck on the accelerator pedal.

The case has drawn significant attention in the region because of the loss of life and number of people injured in the crash.
Rein’s criminal charges remain allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
His trial is currently scheduled for early next year, according to the report from WHDH.
Plimoth Today will continue to follow Monday’s court proceedings and provide updates as additional information becomes available from court officials, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and law enforcement.
