PLYMOUTH, Mass. — A local woman accused of orchestrating an elaborate scheme to fake her own death in order to avoid criminal prosecution appeared before a judge Tuesday, facing a series of new charges tied to the alleged deception.
Prosecutors say , Shannon Wilson 44, of Plymouth MA, went to extreme lengths to evade the court system after earlier arrests tied to a 2022 traffic stop, where she allegedly provided a false identity to police.
? Alleged Scheme Uncovered
According to investigators, Wilson’s actions escalated into a complex and calculated effort to avoid prosecution. Authorities allege she:
- Claimed she was suffering from terminal brain cancer
- Entered what was described as hospice care
- Ultimately faked her own death to avoid future court appearances
The deception didn’t stop there. Prosecutors say forged documents were used to support the claims, including a fraudulent death certificate, and at one point, Wilson allegedly fabricated ties to Irish citizenship as part of her attempt to disappear.

⚖️ Charges Filed
Wilson is now facing multiple serious charges, including:
- Forgery

These charges stem from what prosecutors describe as a deliberate and prolonged attempt to mislead the courts and law enforcement.
