Community Members Invited to Commemorate 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks During Memorial Service Plymouth
Fire Chief Neil Foley and Police Chief Dana Flynn would like to invite community members to join town officials at the town’s upcoming 9/11 Memorial Service to commemorate the 25th anniversary.
Friday, Sept. 11, beginning at 9:45 a.m.

In observance of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and in remembrance of those who lost their lives, the Plymouth Police and Fire Departments invite community members to attend its upcoming 9/11 Memorial Service.
The service will begin with the Honor Guard assembling at Plymouth’s 9/11 Memorial on South Spooner Street. As is the tradition of the New York City Fire Department, Plymouth Firefighter Stephen McCann will symbolically strike a ‘5-5-5-5′ alarm on a ceremonial bell to remember the first responders who died in the line of duty on Sept. 11, 2001.
Following the tolling of the ceremonial bell, a moment of silence will be observed to commemorate the time of the collapse of the World Trade Center’s South Tower and in tribute to all civilians, airline pilots and attendants, EMS, police and fire personnel, Port Authority workers, military and civilian workers at the Pentagon and all the families who lost loved ones in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. on Sept. 11, 2001.
The memorial service will also include a memorial prayer, remarks from local and state officials, police and firefighter prayers and a benediction.
