Propane Tank Explosion Sparks Campsite Fire at Charge Pond Campground in Plymouth
Plymouth MA-A propane tank explosion sparked a fire Monday afternoon at the Charge Pond Campground in Myles Standish State Forest on Charge Pond Road in Plymouth, prompting a response from local fire crews and emergency personnel.
Officials remained at the scene to ensure the area was safe and to investigate what caused the propane tank to explode. The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released.
The explosion occurred shortly after 2 p.m. and ignited a fire that damaged at least one campsite. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and prevented it from spreading to nearby campsites. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
