According to emergency dispatch reports, multiple children were struggling in a rip current off Rexhame Beach when a bystander entered the water to help bring them safely back to shore before emergency crews arrived.
After the rescue, the individual reportedly began coughing up blood, prompting an immediate medical response. Marshfield firefighters and paramedics responded to the beach, where the rescuer was evaluated before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
