$2,200 Reward Offered as Heartbroken Brockton Owners Plead for Safe Return of Stolen French Bulldog Puppy
BROCKTON, Mass. — A local family is experiencing an absolute nightmare after their prized 17-week-old French Bulldog puppy, Eevee, was brazenly stolen from the cab of a tow truck on North Main Street. Owners Molly Lauretti and Gage Tobia are devastated by the theft and are urgently asking the community for any information that can help bring their beloved companion home.

The incident occurred early Thursday morning, between 12:40 a.m. and 1:05 a.m., while the truck was parked at 77 N. Main St. According to the owners, the young cream-colored purebred puppy was peacefully sleeping in the passenger seat of a “Color Rojo” cream tow truck when a stranger targeted the vehicle.
Surveillance Captures the Crime in Action
Local investigators and the grieving family have since reviewed surrounding surveillance footage, which paints a clear and disturbing picture of the crime. According to police and public updates shared by Lauretti, an unknown individual on a mountain bike approached the truck.
The footage allegedly shows the suspect looking into the vehicle for cash or valuables before noticing the sleeping puppy. Without hesitation, the thief opened the door or reached inside, snatched the tiny dog, and tucked her directly inside his jacket before speeding away on his bicycle. The suspect was reportedly last seen heading south on North Main Street toward Irving’s Home Center.
“I am absolutely devastated, heartbroken, and shattered right now. I have been searching these streets over here for hours upon hours straight,” Lauretti shared in an emotional public plea on social media. “Please, please, I need help so badly right now. She was asleep, they took her, and ran off.”
Substantial $2,200 Cash Reward Offered
To incentivize tips and accelerate her recovery, the family has significantly increased a cash reward for information leading to Eevee’s safe return, bringing the total reward up to $2,200. The family has emphasized a strict “no questions asked” policy for anyone who can bring their baby home safely.
French Bulldogs are frequently targeted by thieves across the country due to their high market value and popularity, often fetching thousands of dollars. However, for Lauretti and Tobia, Eevee’s value goes far beyond money—she is an irreplaceable member of their family. Tobia noted that the puppy often accompanied him to work, making her sudden disappearance even more painful for a household accustomed to her playful presence.
A Community Rallying Behind the Family
The theft has triggered an outpouring of support from animal lovers across the region. The City of Brockton Animal Control quickly stepped in to assist, publishing images of Eevee on Facebook and urging anyone with tips to come forward immediately.
How You Can Help
