Traffic and Parking Guidelines for the July 3 Fireworks at Silvershell Beach Marion MA
Marion MA-The Town of Marion is hosting its Independence Day fireworks celebration at Silvershell Beach on Friday, July 3, at 9:15 p.m., as part of the town’s 250th-anniversary festivities. To ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, town officials are urging attendees to plan ahead and follow these guidelines.
Event Details
- Festivities: The event will feature a performance by the Marion Concert Band playing patriotic music leading up to the main display.
- Refreshments: The Fieldstone Farm snack shack will be open during the event.
- Prohibited Items: Alcohol and dogs are not permitted on the beach. Drone usage is also strictly prohibited.
Parking & Arrival Instructions
Attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive early. If you are hosting guests in the Marion Village area, please advise them to arrive by 7:00 p.m. To assist with traffic flow, please adhere to the following parking guidance:
- West of Front Street: Park on side streets facing Converse Road or Pleasant Street.
- East of Front Street: Park on side streets facing Water Street.
- Vine Street: Vehicles must face west toward Front Street.
- Lewis Street: There is no parking allowed on the south side of the street (between Front Street and Converse Road).
- Handicap Parking: Accessible parking will be available at the beach.
Safety and Enforcement
- Fireworks Laws: The private use, possession, or sale of fireworks is illegal in Massachusetts. This includes items purchased legally elsewhere. Violations can result in fines and potential jail time. Please only attend organized, permitted municipal displays.
- Public Safety: Please remember to “See Something, Say Something.” If you observe fireworks misuse, contact the Marion Police Department at 508-748-1212. In the event of an emergency, always call 911.
- Driving Safety: Law enforcement asks that all attendees prioritize safety by designating a sober driver, buckling up, and being mindful of pedestrians when leaving the event.
