Marion Prepares for a Patriotic Spectacle: Applications Open for 250th Anniversary July 4th Parade
MARION, MA — With Independence Day fast approaching, the town of Marion is gearing up for a milestone celebration. This year, the annual festivities hold special significance as the community prepares to honor America’s 250th anniversary with a grand parade on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Organizers are officially calling on residents, businesses, and local groups to showcase their spirit by submitting parade entries. Applications are now being accepted online, and for those who prefer traditional methods, paper applications are available at the Marion Town House Annex, located at 14 Barnabas Road.
The parade is set to step off promptly at 9:00 a.m. Participants are instructed to arrive by 8:00 a.m. at the ball field situated behind the Marion Town House and adjacent to Sippican School, where the Parade Committee will be on hand to manage check-in and staging.
For the competitive spirits in town, there is plenty on the line: trophies will be awarded for first, second, and third place across multiple categories, in addition to a coveted “Best in Parade” honor.
The Parade Route The procession will travel through the heart of Marion, following this route:
- Start: East on Main Street to Spring Street
- Turn: North on Spring Street to Route 6
- Turn: East on Route 6 to Front Street
- Turn: South on Front Street to Main Street
- Finish: West on Main Street, returning to the ball field for the official disbanding and awards presentation.
