East Bridgewater Police Launch New Drone Program to Boost Public Safety
EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — The East Bridgewater Police Department is preparing to launch a new drone program aimed at improving emergency response, search operations, and overall public safety after receiving $25,000 in state funding.
The funding, approved as part of the Massachusetts fiscal year 2026 budget, will support the purchase of drone equipment, officer training, and ongoing operational costs. Officials say the program will allow police to respond more effectively to incidents across town.
How Police Will Use the Drones
According to the department, drones will be used in a variety of situations, including search and rescue missions, crash scene documentation, emergency response in difficult terrain, and monitoring large public events.
