The Crossover at Long Beach will open for vehicle access on September 12 and 13, but unfortunately, because of extreme high tides in the middle of the day, the Crossover area will close to vehicle access for approximately 1½ hours before and after high tide on both days. The Natural Resources Officer on duty may make adjustments based on weather conditions, but the expected Crossover hours are:
Saturday, September 12 Open 9:00am to 11:30am & 2:30pm to 6:00pmClosed from 11:30am to 2:30pm – All vehicles leave the Crossover area
Sunday, September 13Open 9:00am to 12:00pm & 3:00pm to 6:00pmClosed from 12:00pm to 3:00pm – All vehicles leave the Crossover area
A maximum of 225 vehicles will be allowed beyond Manters Point at one time, which is the limit required by the Town's environmental permits. The Manters Point guard shack will be staffed while the Crossover is open, and Long Beach 4×4 stickers will be required to access areas beyond the Plymouth Beach parking lot.
The Crossover will close during the week (September 14 – 18) and will open for vehicle access on September 19 and 20 from 9:00am to 6:00pm. While the Crossover is closed, Ryder Way will remain open and parking will be available in the parking lots and designated areas along the road.
