Person Reportedly Found Unresponsive After Taking Too Much CBD on Mariners Hill Drive Marshfield

Marshfield, MA — Emergency crews reportedly responded to Mariners Hill Drive after a person was found unresponsive following a report that they had taken too much CBD, according to an emergency incident report.

The medical emergency brought first responders to the Marshfield neighborhood, where crews evaluated the individual and worked to provide assistance. The person’s current condition, age, and whether they were transported to a hospital have not been publicly released.

The incident serves as a reminder that even products often considered harmless can cause unexpected reactions when taken in excessive amounts or when combined with other substances. CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a compound commonly found in hemp and cannabis products and is widely available in oils, gummies, capsules, and other forms.

While many people use CBD products without experiencing serious problems, consuming large amounts can lead to side effects. Reported reactions may include extreme drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, nausea, changes in alertness, and other symptoms that may require medical attention.

Emergency officials stress that when someone becomes unresponsive after taking any substance, it should always be treated as a serious medical situation. Calling 911 immediately can help ensure the person receives proper care as quickly as possible.

CBD products can vary significantly in strength, and some products may contain higher concentrations than expected. In some cases, products marketed as CBD may also contain other compounds that could contribute to unexpected reactions.

Local first responders regularly handle medical emergencies involving medications, supplements, alcohol, and other substances. Officials encourage residents to read product labels carefully, avoid taking more than the recommended amount, and keep potentially dangerous products away from children and others who may accidentally consume them.

The Mariners Hill Drive incident highlights the importance of recognizing the warning signs of a possible substance-related emergency. If someone cannot be awakened, has trouble breathing, experiences a seizure, or shows signs of a serious reaction after taking a product, emergency medical help should be requested right away.

Residents with questions about possible poisoning or harmful reactions from a substance can also contact poison control for guidance. Medical experts recommend having information about the product involved, including the name, amount taken, and time of consumption, available for emergency responders.

The circumstances surrounding the Marshfield incident remain limited at this time. Officials have not released additional details about what led to the emergency response or the person’s condition following treatment.

Plimoth Today will continue monitoring the situation and will provide updates if additional information becomes available from Marshfield emergency officials or other authorities.
