Gas Leak Prompts Road Closure and Emergency Response in Duxbury
DUXBURY, Mass. — A reported gas leak led to a temporary road closure in Duxbury as emergency crews worked to secure the area and protect nearby residents.
The incident occurred along King Caesar Road near the area of 126 King Caesar Road. Police, firefighters, and utility personnel responded after the leak was reported. As a precaution, a section of King Caesar Road between Weston Road and Russell Road was closed to traffic while crews assessed the situation and made repairs.
Emergency responders established a safety perimeter to keep motorists and pedestrians away from the affected area. Traffic was diverted until the roadway could be reopened safely.

According to local officials, the leak was brought under control without any reported injuries. Utility crews remained at the scene to complete repairs and ensure the area was safe before normal traffic resumed.
Natural gas leaks can pose serious risks, including the potential for fire or explosion. Authorities remind residents that anyone who smells natural gas should leave the area immediately, avoid using electrical switches or open flames, and call 911 and their gas utility from a safe location.
The cause of the gas leak has not been released, and no additional information was immediately available.
This is a developing story. Plimoth Today will provide updates if additional information is released by local officials.
