Breaking : Plymouth DA Drops Strangulation Charges Against Lindsay Clancy Ahead of Duxbury Children’s Deaths Trial
PLYMOUTH COUNTY, Mass. — Prosecutors have dropped the strangulation charges against Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury mother accused in the deaths of her three young children, as the case moves closer to trial.
Clancy had previously faced three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation in connection with the January 2023 deaths of her children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan Clancy.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office has dismissed the strangulation charges, leaving the murder charges as the central focus of the upcoming trial. Clancy has pleaded not guilty, and her defense has said the case will focus heavily on her mental health at the time of the deaths.
Authorities previously said Duxbury police responded to a home on Summer Street on January 24, 2023, after receiving a report of a possible suicide attempt. First responders later found the three children inside the home.
Clancy’s attorneys have argued that she was suffering from severe mental health issues, including postpartum-related struggles, while prosecutors have maintained that the deaths were intentional.
The highly watched Plymouth County case is scheduled to go to trial in 2026.
Plimoth Today will continue following updates from the Plymouth County court system as this case develops.
