KINGSTON, MA — Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that struck an officer directing traffic yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of Main Street and Brook Street, near an active roadwork area. According to the Kingston Police Department, the officer sustained no serious injuries.
Authorities describe the suspect vehicle as a dark maroon (appearing almost black) four-door sedan, possibly a Subaru or similar model. The car stopped briefly following the impact before fleeing south toward the highway.
The vehicle was occupied by two white males estimated to be in their late teens. The impact caused significant damage to the car’s passenger-side mirror, leaving behind its outer encasement and other broken components at the scene.
Kingston Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or was driving in the area around 2:30 p.m. yesterday to contact authorities. Residents and motorists are specifically asked to check home surveillance and dash camera footage. Additionally, community members are requested to look for matching passenger-side mirror damage on similar vehicles.
