High-Risk Traffic Stop in Kingston Leads to Arrest After Halifax Road Rage Incident
KINGSTON — A South Shore road rage dispute took a dangerous turn on Friday evening, culminating in a high-risk “felony stop” on Main Street in Kingston and the recovery of a realistic pellet gun.
Just before 5:00 p.m. on September 11, police departments coordinated after a motorist reported that a driver had pointed a gun during an altercation in neighboring Halifax. Kingston police officers located the suspect vehicle matching the description near Route 3 and executed a high-risk stop near a local restaurant.
With service weapons drawn due to the severity of the threat, officers issued multiple commands for the driver to exit the vehicle. According to police reports, the operator grew argumentative and initially resisted orders before officers successfully took him into custody without injury.
A search of the vehicle yielded a pellet gun crafted with startling realism. When questioned by law enforcement about why he brandished the item, the driver casually claimed he was “just showing it to someone.”
Kingston police transferred the custody of the suspect over to the Halifax Police Department, which is leading the ongoing investigation. Officials have not yet released the identity of the driver or the specific charges he will face. No injuries were reported during the traffic stop.
