Suspects Sought After Rideshare Driver Allegedly Robbed at Knifepoint
ABINGTON, Mass. — Police are searching for two men accused of robbing an Uber driver at knifepoint early Wednesday morning near the Abington-Brockton town line.
According to the Abington Police Department, officers responded at approximately 5:52 a.m. Wednesday to the area of Brockton Avenue after receiving a report of an armed robbery.
Investigators said an Uber driver had traveled to the area for a scheduled pickup when he was allegedly flagged down by two men.
Police said the two suspects then displayed a knife and demanded money from the driver.
The suspects allegedly took approximately $450 before running from the area on foot and entering a wooded section near nearby power lines.
The driver was not injured during the reported robbery, according to police.
Authorities described the suspects as two Black males wearing face coverings. Police said one suspect was wearing a black sweater, while the second was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt.
Officers conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area after the suspects reportedly fled. However, police said the two men were not located.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are asking residents and anyone who may have been traveling through the area during the early morning hours to report anything that could help investigators identify the suspects.
Police are particularly interested in any home surveillance, business security footage, dashcam video or other recordings that may have captured suspicious activity around the time of the reported robbery.

The investigation remains active, and no arrests had been announced in connection with the reported robbery at the time of the Boston 25 News report.
