Wareham, Mass. Worker Killed in Industrial Accident at Chatham Village Foods
A worker was killed Wednesday morning after being involved in a serious industrial accident at a Wareham business, according to reports.
Emergency crews were called to Chatham Village Foods at 15 Kendrick Road around 9:45 a.m. after receiving reports that a worker had become trapped and pinned by a semi-truck.
Responders rushed to the scene and worked to free the victim. Despite emergency efforts, the worker was pronounced dead.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released as officials work to notify family members.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal workplace accident.
Investigators are expected to review what happened leading up to the incident, including equipment, workplace conditions, and safety procedures.
