Maintenance Worker Arrested on Theft Charges in Duxbury
A maintenance worker has been arrested in Duxbury after police say he stole jewelry from residents at an apartment complex and later tried to pawn some of the items.
Investigators say residents at The Village at Duxbury started reporting missing jewelry over a period of time. After looking into it, police reviewed security footage and say they saw the worker going into apartments he wasn’t assigned to enter. From there, detectives traced some of the stolen items to local pawn shops.
Police were able to recover part of the missing property, but not everything. The suspect was later arrested at his home in Kingston after a warrant was issued.
He is now facing multiple theft and breaking-and-entering charges, including allegations tied to stealing from older residents.
The investigation is still ongoing as authorities work to locate any remaining missing items.
