Brockton MA, Mayor Faces Further Accusations of Unprofessional Conduct
Brockton MA-The WGBH report details an account from Brockton resident Alba Cordero Soto regarding an interaction she had with Mayor Moises Rodrigues last October.
At a city finance committee hearing on June 8, Cordero Soto stated that when she met Rodrigues while she was pregnant, he held her hand and made an inappropriate comment suggesting he was responsible for her pregnancy. Cordero Soto described the encounter as unprofessional and noted that she had not previously known the mayor.

This testimony follows other recent allegations against Mayor Rodrigues regarding inappropriate behavior, including:
- Accusations of inappropriately touching a graduating senior at a Brockton parade and a different minor at a Youth Health Advisory Council meeting in May.
- A recent court ruling where a judge described the mayor’s behavior toward the graduating senior as “unwelcome, offensive and certainly unprofessional,” though the judge declined to extend a harassment prevention order.
Mayor Rodrigues has denied wrongdoing in the cases involving the minors. He declined to comment for the WGBH report on Cordero Soto’s account. Investigations into the allegations involving the students are reportedly underway by the Brockton Public Schools and Massachusetts State Police.
