
PLYMOUTH COUNTY — As the South Shore moves into the heart of spring, residents across Plymouth County have a packed calendar of town meetings, high school milestones, and the return of signature summer festivals. From the historic waterfront of Plymouth to the fairgrounds of Marshfield, here is what is happening in your neighborhood this May and June.
Headliner Events & Festivals
Bark in the Park & Waterfront Preparations
The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual Bark in the Park festival this June. The event will feature over 30 pet-related vendors, K-9 demonstrations, and the popular “blessing of the dogs.” Meanwhile, registration is now officially open for vendors looking to participate in the 2026 Plymouth Waterfront Festival.
Live at The Spire
The Spire Center for Performing Arts has a busy eight-week stretch ahead. Notable performances include:
- May 30: Draw The Line (Aerosmith Tribute)
- June 12: Carbon Leaf
- June 27: An Evening with Livingston Taylor
Town-by-Town Happenings
Marshfield: Farmers’ Markets & Community Support
The Marshfield Farmers’ Market officially returns to the Fairgrounds on May 16 (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM), featuring local produce and live music. Additionally, the “Grandparents & Kin Care Support Program” will hold its monthly sessions at Friendship Hall on May 13 and June 10 at 5:00 PM.
Abington: Graduation & Governance
Abington High School is entering its final stretch for the Class of 2026.
- May 28: Senior Awards Night.
- May 30: AHS Commencement Exercises.
- June 8: The Board of Library Trustees will convene at 6:30 PM to discuss summer programming.
Duxbury: Municipal Planning & Recreation
Town Hall remains active with several key subcommittee meetings.
- May 5: Local Historic District Commission meets at the Senior Center (5:00 PM).
- Ongoing: Open Play Pickleball continues at the town courts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning at 8:00 AM throughout the month of May.
Local Recreation & Sports
The MIAA spring season is reaching its peak across the county. High school sports fans should look for “Morgan’s Message” dedication games and regular-season finales throughout late May. For those hitting the links, the ABC MA Golf Outing is set for June 18 at the Pinehills Golf Club.
