Nighttime Road Closures on Samoset Street and Standish Avenue in Effect Tonight, Oct. 8
The Town of Plymouth announces that nighttime road closures with traffic detours will be in effect tonight, Oct. 8, while construction is underway at the Booster Pump Station site off Samoset Street.
Samoset Street will be closed to all through traffic from Oak Street to Westerly Road from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. tonight to allow contractors to install a water main tapping sleeve and valve in advance of the Booster Pump Station construction adjacent to Vine Hills Cemetery.
The portion of Samoset Street between Royal Street and Westerly Road will remain open for access to the Speedway Gas station.
Westbound traffic on Samoset Street (leaving the center of town) will be detoured onto Oak Street, continuing to Summer Street and onto Westerly Road.
Eastbound traffic (heading into town) will be detoured onto Westerly Road, down Alden Street to Court Street.
Accommodations for residents will be made as necessary. Emergency vehicles will be allowed to drive through the work zone at all times.
Community members should note that this detour will not impact drivers' ability to access Route 3 on- and off-ramps. Police will be directing traffic, and a signed detour will be in place.
