Scooter Rider Resuscitated, Hospitalized After Main Street Crash in Kingston
KINGSTON MASS— A 21-year-old woman was transported to a regional hospital on Sunday afternoon following a serious collision involving a vehicle and a scooter on Main Street.
According to the Kingston Police Department, officers dispatched to Main Street shortly after 12:00 p.m. following reports of a motor vehicle accident. First responders located an unresponsive woman lying in the roadway suffering from a head injury sustained when she hit the pavement.
A passerby who is a registered nurse immediately stepped in alongside responding police officers to perform CPR. Kingston Fire Department personnel arrived on scene shortly after to assist with emergency care. First responders successfully resuscitated the victim before transporting her to a local medical facility. Her current condition has not been disclosed.
The operator of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement.
Kingston police stated that an initial investigation revealed no immediate evidence of unreasonable or improper operation by the driver. The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by local authorities.
