Rockland, MA: Route 3 North Crash Leaves One Trapped, Multiple Patients Evaluated
Rockland, Mass. — Emergency crews responded to a serious motor vehicle crash Sunday on Route 3 north near the Route 228 interchange, where firefighters were working to free at least one person trapped inside a vehicle.
According to radio dispatch traffic, Rockland Fire Department crews began extricating one patient while evaluating three additional people involved in the crash. A command officer established Route 3 North Command to coordinate the emergency response.
Dispatch communications also indicated that officials were considering sending an additional ambulance to the scene as first responders assessed the extent of injuries.
The cause of the crash has not been released, and the condition of those involved has not yet been made public.
Motorists traveling on Route 3 north should expect delays in the area while emergency crews remain on scene and the incident is investigated.
