Man Arrested After Serious Domestic Violence Incident Leaves Two Hospitalized
ROCHESTER, Mass. — A Rochester man is facing multiple serious charges after police responded to a reported domestic violence incident at a local residence Sunday night that left two victims injured and hospitalized.
According to Newport Dispatch, Rochester Police received a 911 call reporting an ongoing physical domestic disturbance. Responding officers were informed that a female victim had sustained serious injuries.
Police immediately went to the residence, secured the scene and took a male suspect into custody. Officers also provided assistance to the victims while they waited for emergency medical personnel to arrive.
Two victims were later transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries reportedly sustained during the incident.
The suspect was identified as Theodore Labelle, who is facing several serious criminal charges in connection with the incident.

According to police, Labelle was charged with two counts of mayhem, assault with intent to maim; two counts of assault to murder; two counts of domestic assault and battery; strangulation/suffocation; and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Authorities said additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
Labelle is currently being held on $50,000 cash bail, according to the report.
The incident also brought assistance from neighboring police departments. Officers from the Acushnet Police Department and Mattapoisett Police Department responded to Rochester to provide mutual aid during the police response.
The Rochester Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged domestic violence incident.
Because the investigation remains active, additional information could be released as authorities review the incident and determine whether further charges are warranted.
The charges against Labelle are allegations at this stage, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Domestic violence incidents can involve serious physical injuries and can require a coordinated response from police, emergency medical personnel and neighboring agencies. In this case, Rochester officers responded to the reported disturbance, secured the residence and provided aid to the victims before they were transported to area hospitals.
Authorities have not released additional details about the relationship between the suspect and victims or the specific circumstances that led to the reported violence.
