BSU Student Charged With 10 Counts Over Alleged Explicit Videos

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — A Bridgewater State University student is facing 10 criminal charges after police accused him of sending sexually explicit videos to a university employee and others, according to court information reported by The Enterprise.

The student, identified as Rudinei L. Dasilva, is a 37- or 38-year-old Bridgewater resident. He faces 10 counts of dissemination of obscene matter stemming from separate investigations involving Bridgewater State University Police and Abington Police.

According to The Enterprise, three of the charges were filed by the Bridgewater State University Police Department, while the remaining seven charges were filed by the Abington Police Department.

The allegations involve the distribution of sexually explicit videos. The reported case indicates that more than 80 explicit videos were allegedly sent to a university employee.

July Arraignment in Brockton District Court

Dasilva was first arraigned in Brockton District Court on July 10, 2026, on the three charges filed by Bridgewater State University Police.

During that proceeding, Dasilva pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court released him on $500 cash bail.

The case later resulted in additional charges filed by Abington Police.

Second Arraignment

Dasilva returned to Brockton District Court on August 26, 2026, for arraignment on the seven charges filed by the Abington Police Department.

He again pleaded not guilty.

Unlike his first arraignment, Dasilva was released on personal recognizance, meaning he was released without having to post cash bail.

The 10 charges remain allegations, and the filing of criminal charges does not establish guilt. Dasilva is presumed innocent unless and until prosecutors prove the allegations in court.
