Marshfield Opens Cooling Centers July 2–3 as Extreme Heat Arrives
With dangerous heat expected across southeastern Massachusetts, the Town of Marshfield has announced several cooling centers will be open on Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3, to provide residents with relief from the high temperatures and humidity.
Cooling Center Locations & Hours
Thursday, July 2
- Ventress Memorial Library: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Council on Aging: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Maritime Center / Harbormaster: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Town Hall: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday, July 3
- Council on Aging: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Maritime Center / Harbormaster: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Town officials are encouraging residents to take precautions during the heat wave by drinking plenty of water, limiting outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, wearing lightweight clothing, and checking on elderly neighbors, family members, and others who may be vulnerable to heat-related illness.
