Marshfield Restaurant Preparing for One-Night Rave Event
Marshfield MA-According to WBZ, an upcoming rave at The Ming Dynasty in Marshfield was the idea of local internet personality and event organizer Colby Lauria.
Lauria told WBZ the idea came to him while he was traveling through northern Vietnam with a friend.
“I was doing a backpacking trip with my friend Gino in Northern Vietnam, and I was overlooking some mountains and I thought, man, The Ming Dynasty should be a rave, I think people would really like that,” Lauria said.

After returning home, Lauria pitched the concept to Monica, owner of The Ming Dynasty. He admitted the proposal wasn’t warmly received at first.
“She was really frazzled; she called the police on me for just proposing the idea,” Lauria told WBZ. “I am most proud of how our relationship has evolved since.”
Lauria said he continued visiting the restaurant regularly, building trust with the owner and emphasizing that safety would be a top priority. Plans for the event include hired security personnel and other measures to ensure a safe experience for attendees.
Once Monica approved the event, interest exploded. Lauria said approximately 250 tickets sold out in just nine minutes.
“We’re turning The Ming Dynasty in Marshfield into a proper rave,” Lauria said. “We’re bringing in thousands of dollars of lights and sounds and glowsticks.”
The rave is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 15, and has already generated significant buzz across social media and the South Shore.
