PLYMOUTH, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will begin an
overnight roadway improvement project in Plymouth starting Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Contracted to J.H. Lynch & Sons, Inc., the project (Contract 133576) involves milling, paving, and
related repair work to address defects at various high-priority locations.

The work is scheduled to take place during the night from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM to minimize traffic
disruptions. The estimated duration of the project is two to three weeks. However, schedule
timelines depend on contractor availability and may change due to weather conditions or
scheduling conflicts
.
Traffic management and work zone safety will be managed by the Massachusetts State Police and
local town police departments. Traffic flow will primarily be maintained using lane closures. If
necessary for work zone safety, temporary ramp closures with approved detours may be
implemented.
Members of the public with questions or complaints regarding this project should contact the
MassDOT District 5 Construction Office directly at 857-368-5104.
