Brockton to host its first-ever Jamaican Independence Day Parade!
Brockton MA,-Big things are coming to downtown Brockton this summer. On Thursday, August 6, the city is set to host its first-ever Jamaican Independence Day parade to mark 64 years of independence.
The event is being spearheaded by organizer Alliyah Williams, who is looking to turn downtown into a hub of green, gold, and black. If you’ve been looking for a reason to get out and celebrate, this is it—the parade promises a full day of Caribbean food, live music, dancers, and what the organizers are calling “straight Jamaican vibes.”
They need your help to pull it off.
Since this is the inaugural parade, the team is actively looking for local help to get the ball rolling. They need:
- Volunteers to help on the ground.
- Performers and dancers to bring the energy.
- Food vendors to bring the authentic flavors.
- Sponsors to help make the event a success.
If you’re interested in getting involved or want to help out with the planning, you can reach out directly to Alliyah at Allywaydesigns@yahoo.com.
We’re still waiting on the specific parade route, so keep an eye on Plimoth Today—we’ll update you as soon as that’s mapped out.
