Plymouth MA-A Plymouth County caregiver has been indicted on multiple serious charges after authorities say a disabled man was found confined in horrific living conditions, according to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.

Investigators allege the caregiver locked the victim inside a bedroom, where police later discovered conditions described as “deplorable.” Authorities reported:

  • Feces smeared on walls
  • Trash and clutter piled throughout the room
  • A bed and living area heavily soiled with urine and waste

When officers responded to the home, they found the victim living in unsanitary and unsafe conditions, raising immediate concerns about neglect and abuse.

⚖️ Charges Filed

According to prosecutors, the caregiver now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Caretaker neglect of a disabled person
  • Kidnapping
  • Unemployment fraud (related to benefits collected while allegedly failing to provide care)

The indictment reflects what officials describe as a serious breach of responsibility toward a vulnerable individual.

? What Investigators Say

Authorities believe the victim was:

  • Improperly confined and unable to leave the room
  • Deprived of adequate hygiene and care
  • Living in conditions that posed significant health risks

Officials emphasized that the case highlights the dangers of caretaker abuse and isolation, especially when victims rely fully on others for daily needs.

? Ongoing Case

The accused is expected to face court proceedings in Plymouth County. Additional details, including court dates and further evidence, are expected as the case moves forward.

⚠️ Public Reminder

The AG’s office urges anyone who suspects abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable person to report it immediately to local authorities or state agencies.
