BROCKTON, Mass. — A deadly drunk-driving crash in Brockton, Massachusetts is drawing backlash after a judge set bail at just $5,000 for the accused driver, according to Fox News.
Prosecutors say Mario Hernandez, 32, was operating under the influence when he slammed into a box truck in the early morning hours of November 14, 2025.
The crash killed two men:28-year-old Shane Spillane and 24-year-old Justin Pratt, in Brockton, Massachusetts
Authorities say the vehicle burst into flames after impact, trapping the victims inside.
Bail Decision Sparks Outrage
Despite facing charges including motor vehicle homicide and OUI, the judge set bail at $5,000 cash. Hernandez was released under conditions including no driving, sobriety requirements, and alcohol monitoring.
