Abington Police Seek Help Identifying Woman in Distressing Doorbell Video

ABINGTON MA— Local authorities are asking for the public’s assistance after a bizarre and deeply concerning overnight encounter at a residence on Karen Lane earlier this week.

At approximately 2:53 AM on Tuesday, a homeowner was awakened by their doorbell camera. The footage shows a woman who appeared to be in distress. According to investigators, the woman rang the bell and initially asked for help finding an address. During the brief interaction with the resident, she reportedly claimed she had just been kidnapped.

By the time officers arrived on the scene, the woman had already left the area. Her current whereabouts and safety remain unknown, making her identification a top priority for the department.

What We Know

The Abington Police Department has released still images from the Ring camera footage in hopes that a friend, family member, or neighbor might recognize her. While the incident happened in a quiet residential pocket of Abington, police are asking residents throughout the South Shore to stay alert.

Police are With the individual now identified and confirmed safe, the immediate public safety concern has been resolved. Police have not indicated whether any further investigation into the circumstances will continue.
