Driver Seriously Injured in Hingham Crash on the Morning of June 12, 2026
Hingham MA-On the morning of June 12, 2026, a 63-year-old driver sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision on New Bridge Street in Hingham, Massachusetts.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:28 a.m. near 63 New Bridge St. Investigators determined that both vehicles—a Toyota truck and a Chevrolet truck—were traveling northbound, with the Chevrolet in the lead. The driver of the Toyota attempted to pass the Chevrolet at a high rate of speed by crossing a solid center line, striking the left side of the Chevrolet. Following the initial impact, the Toyota lost control and struck a tree on the driver’s side.

Hingham firefighters extricated the driver of the Toyota, who was subsequently transported to South Shore Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was unharmed.
The operator of the Toyota has been cited for negligent operation, speeding, and violations related to improper passing and marked lanes. Both individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
