Former Middleboro Fire Captain Charged After Allegedly Recording Family Member Without Consent
MIDDLEBORO MA — A former Middleboro Fire Department captain is facing criminal charges after prosecutors say he secretly recorded a family member while the person was nude.

According to court documents, the allegations involve recordings made without the individual’s knowledge or consent in a location where the person had a reasonable expectation of privacy.
The former firefighter was arraigned in court and charged with offenses related to unlawful surveillance and invasion of privacy. Officials have not released the identity of the alleged victim.
Authorities began investigating after the alleged recordings were discovered and reported to law enforcement. Prosecutors say the case centers on allegations that the recordings were made secretly and without permission.
The defendant has since left the Middleboro Fire Department. Court records indicate the case is ongoing, and additional hearings are expected as prosecutors continue to move forward with the charges.
No additional information about possible victims has been released at this time.
As with all criminal cases, the allegations remain accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Plimoth Today will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
