Plymouth MA -Hey Plymouth Friends! I’m excited to share that the Town of Plymouth is wrapping up the development of the 2026 Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). We’re working closely with local land managers, ecologists, response teams, and all of you in the community, with some great support from SWCA Environmental Consultants.
So, what’s a CWPP? It’s a community-focused plan that helps us identify wildfire risks and come up with smart strategies to tackle them. This plan is all about fire prevention, mitigation, preparedness, and making sure we have a coordinated response when it counts. The 2026 CWPP will include:
– Detailed assessments of wildfire hazards in our area
– Evaluations of how prepared we are to respond
– Recommendations for reducing flammable vegetation around homes
– Tips to improve our evacuation planning and response
– Strategies to build long-term resilience in our community
We Need Your Input!
Your insights are super important for this process! We want to hear about your concerns regarding wildfires, any challenges you face during evacuations, and areas you think should be prioritized for mitigation. Your involvement helps ensure the CWPP reflects what matters to our community and opens the door for funding future wildfire resilience projects.
How to Get Involved:
Take some time to check out the draft CWPP and share your thoughts or questions with the planning team. You can find the draft here: [Plymouth CWPP Draft https://plymouthmacwpphubsite-top.hub.arcgis.com/.
