Get ready for the 2026 Wareham Youth Baseball Little League Parade! Taking place Saturday, April 25, this community event marks the start of the spring season and showcases the new field renovations at the Charge Pond Road complex. Find registration details and parade times here

WAREHAM, MA – Spring is officially in the air as the Wareham Select Board recently finalized the town’s seasonal event calendar, headlined by the return of a beloved community staple: the Wareham Youth Baseball Little League Parade.

On Tuesday, March 31, officials approved the league’s application to kick off the 2026 season with its traditional march through town. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, starting at 10:00 AM.

Event Highlights & Schedule

The parade serves as the grand entry for players and coaches, signaling the start of a new summer of baseball and softball.

  • Parade Route: The procession typically draws hundreds of spectators as players march in full uniform toward the local fields.
  • Opening Ceremonies: Immediately following the parade (approximately 10:45 AM), the league will host its official Opening Day ceremonies.
  • Festivities: Families can expect a full day of activity, including the first official games of the season, raffles, and concessions.

Planning for the Season

League organizers are encouraging families to arrive early for staging. In the event of inclement weather, a rain date has been set for Sunday, April 26.

The approval comes as part of a broader “Spring Lineup” for Wareham, which also includes the Keep Wareham Beautiful “Spring Sweep” on April 11. Residents interested in volunteering for town-wide cleanup efforts or looking for more details on the Little League schedule can find information at the Town Hall or via the league’s official registration portal.

egistration and Divisions

Wareham Little League has officially opened registration for the 2026 Spring Season. The league is offering programs for children across four primary divisions:

  • Tee Ball League: Ages 3 ½ to 5 ½
  • Farm League: Ages 6 to 8
  • Minor League: Ages 9 to 12 (All players will be evaluated to ensure even placements).
  • Major League: Ages 9 to 12 (Tryout-based division).

Parents are encouraged to register through the league’s official portal as soon as possible to ensure roster spots and uniform ordering.

A “Complex Makeover” in Progress

This year’s Opening Day holds extra significance as the league continues its “Complex Makeover” project. Organizers have been working through the winter to revitalize the local fields and facilities to provide a safer, high-quality environment for players. Spectators attending the April 25 parade and subsequent games will be among the first to see the season’s progress on these facility upgrades.

Opening Day Festivities

Following the 45-minute parade, the focus shifts to the Little League Complex for the official Opening Ceremonies at 10:45 AM. The day’s events include:

  • Live Games: The first official pitch of the 2026 season for all divisions.
  • Raffles & Giveaways: Local businesses have donated items to support league fundraising.
  • The Snack Shack: The fully stocked concession stand will be open, serving up its traditional “Opening Day” menu of sweet treats and ballpark favorites.

Community Support

The league, which has served the town for nearly 70 years, is also seeking local business sponsors at Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels to support the ongoing facility improvements and equipment costs.
