Steven A. Santos, 48, who operated the circus training program “Simply Circus,” was found guilty following a multi-day trial in court.

Jurors returned guilty verdicts on:
Five counts of indecent assault and battery on a person age 14 or older
One count of assault and battery
Santos was acquitted on one additional charge.

Prosecutors said the assaults took place in 2020 and involved two teenage victims, ages 15 and 16, who were enrolled in Santos’ circus training program.
Authorities say the abuse occurred over a period of time, including incidents at the defendant’s home in Whitman.
The case began when one victim came forward in October 2020. During the investigation, a second teen reported similar allegations, leading to multiple charges.
