Brockton Police Search for Driver in Evening Main Street Hit-and-Run
BROCKTON, Mass. — Local authorities are appealing to the public for help as they search for a motorist involved in a Thursday evening hit-and-run crash that left an electric bike rider injured.
According to the Brockton Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on October 8, 2026. Investigators report that a vehicle struck a man in his 20s who was operating an e-bike along the 1700 block of Main Street, near a local Dunkin’ location.

First responders rushed to the scene following emergency calls. Initial reports from law enforcement referred to the victim as a pedestrian, but follow-up investigations and witness clarifications confirmed he was riding an e-bike at the time of the collision. The young man sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and was transported by ambulance to a nearby regional hospital for medical treatment. He is expected to recover.
Vehicle Description and Ongoing Investigation
The driver responsible for the crash failed to stop, render aid, or exchange information, instead fleeing the scene immediately. Witnesses and nearby surveillance systems helped investigators track the vehicle’s immediate trajectory. Police have identified the suspect vehicle as a silver Ford Flex, which was last seen traveling down nearby Hayward Avenue.
The Brockton Police Department is treating the incident as a serious motor vehicle crime and has deployed resources to trace the distinctive crossover vehicle. Investigators are actively combing through commercial and residential security footage from the Main Street and Hayward Avenue corridors to capture a clearer view of the license plate and driver.
