Marion Town officials continue to monitor the forecast for this weekend, which calls for periods of heavy rain and strong winds. Residents should take a few simple precautions before the storm arrives.
• Secure or bring inside outdoor furniture, trash barrels, decorations and other loose items.
• Charge phones and other essential devices.
• Be prepared for possible power outages. If you experience a power outage, please contact Eversource directly to report the outage.
• Make sure generators are operated safely and never inside a home, garage or other enclosed area.
• Use caution while traveling, particularly during periods of strong winds and heavy rain.
• Stay away from downed trees and power lines and report downed wires to the appropriate utility.
Residents should continue to monitor the weather. We will provide additional information if necessary.
