Plymouth Police Issue BOLO for Reportedly Armed Man Accused of Threatening Officers on the 25th

Plymouth, Mass. — Police issued an officer-safety BOLO in Plymouth Monday night after a man reportedly made direct threats toward specific police officers and sergeants and was believed to be carrying a 9mm handgun.

According to an automatically generated transcript of public dispatch audio obtained by CrimeRadar, Plymouth County police and emergency personnel were advised to stand by for a BOLO with “special attention” to Plymouth. The dispatch was issued at approximately 8:39 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2026.

The BOLO reportedly involved a black 2023 Chevrolet Silverado associated with an address near Summer Street in Plymouth. Dispatchers described the incident as a well-being check and an officer-safety concern.

Police were told that the male party had allegedly made direct threats involving contact with law enforcement. Dispatch specifically warned that threats had been directed toward identified Plymouth police officers and sergeants.

The dispatch further stated that the man was believed to have a 9mm handgun on his person.

“SWAT will be needed,” dispatch advised if police contact with the individual required a tactical response, according to the transcript.

Despite the reported threats and concern that the man may be armed, dispatch emphasized that officers did not have probable cause to arrest him at that time. The call was classified as a welfare check rather than an arrest situation.

Officers were repeatedly reminded that the situation presented an officer-safety concern.

The information available from the dispatch recording does not indicate that an arrest was made during the initial response or that anyone was injured. It also does not establish whether the firearm was ultimately located or whether police made contact with the individual.

CrimeRadar cautions that its dispatch transcript is automatically generated from live public safety audio and may contain errors or incomplete information. The website also states that the material is not an official police report and should be independently verified with authorities.

Residents who encounter someone matching the description or believe they may have information related to the incident should avoid approaching a person they suspect may be armed and contact police.

The incident remains a developing situation, and additional information may become available from Plymouth police or other law enforcement agencies.
