Plymouth, Mass. — Lindsay Clancy’s Ex-Husband Seeks to Limit Public Access to Sensitive Evidence in Murder Trial

Patrick Clancy, the former husband of Lindsay Clancy, is asking the court to restrict public access to certain sensitive evidence expected to be presented during his former wife’s upcoming murder trial.

The request involves evidence connected to the deaths of the couple’s three children, with concerns that some materials could be highly personal and emotionally difficult for family members if released publicly.

Lindsay Clancy, a former Duxbury resident, is facing multiple murder charges in connection with the January 2023 deaths of her children. Prosecutors allege she was responsible for their deaths, while her defense team has argued that she was experiencing a severe mental health crisis at the time.

The highly publicized case is expected to focus on Clancy’s mental health, medical history, and the events leading up to the children’s deaths. The defense has previously argued that postpartum psychosis played a role in her actions.

A judge will decide whether certain evidence will be kept from public view as the trial moves forward in Plymouth Superior Court.
