Multiple Vehicles Catch Fire Near Junkyard on Quincy Road in Abington
ABINGTON, Mass. — Firefighters responded to a large vehicle fire Tuesday after multiple vehicles caught fire at or near a junkyard on Quincy Road in Abington.
Emergency crews were dispatched following reports of several vehicles engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control while preventing it from spreading to additional vehicles and nearby property. Thick black smoke could be seen rising from the scene as crews battled the blaze.
No injuries have been reported. Officials have not yet released what caused the fire or how many vehicles were damaged. Firefighters remained at the scene extinguishing hotspots while the incident is investigated.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area on Quincy Road as emergency crews continued their operations.
