Brockton Man Hospitalized After Daylight Stabbing on Noyes Avenue; Suspect Arrested at Scene
BROCKTON MA — A man was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after being stabbed in broad daylight on Noyes Avenue, prompting a rapid police response and an on-scene arrest, according to authorities.
Police were called to the area of 22 Noyes Ave. at approximately 4:21 p.m. following reports of a violent altercation. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from two stab wounds. Emergency responders rendered aid at the scene before transporting him to Boston Medical Center for further treatment. His current condition has not been released.
Investigators say a suspect was taken into custody at the location shortly after officers arrived. Authorities have not yet released the individual’s identity or announced formal charges.
The circumstances leading up to the stabbing remain under investigation, including what prompted the confrontation and whether the individuals involved knew each other. Detectives with the Brockton Police Department are continuing to gather evidence and speak with witnesses in the area.
Noyes Avenue, located in a residential section of the city, was briefly active with police activity as the scene was secured and processed.
Officials have not indicated whether additional arrests are expected.
