Town Wharf Improvement Funding Secured

Plymouth, MA-(plimoth)— The Town of Plymouth has been awarded $1.5 million in state grant funding to support improvements at Town Wharf, a central hub of the town’s historic waterfront and tourism economy.
The funding will be used to upgrade infrastructure at the wharf, which serves commercial fishing operations, recreational boating, and seasonal tourism activities. Town officials say the investment will help strengthen waterfront resilience, improve public access, and support local businesses that rely on the harbor.
Town Wharf plays a critical role in Plymouth’s economy, particularly during the busy summer months when visitors flock to the waterfront for dining, sightseeing, and harbor activities. Improvements are expected to enhance safety, modernize facilities, and preserve the long-term viability of the area.
State leaders highlighted the importance of investing in coastal communities, noting that projects like this help protect local economies while maintaining access to Massachusetts’ working waterfronts.
Construction timelines and specific project details are expected to be announced as planning moves forward.
