PLYMOUTH, MA (plimoth)— The Plymouth Fire Department is urging residents to take precautions ahead of a significant winter storm expected to impact the area this weekend.
Officials recommend residents prepare their vehicles, walking routes, and homes for potentially hazardous winter conditions. Drivers are encouraged to check tires, batteries, and emergency kits, while pedestrians should clear walkways and use proper footwear to prevent slips and falls.
The department also emphasized the importance of home safety equipment, reminding residents to ensure carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are working properly, especially as heating systems run more frequently during cold weather.
In addition, the Town of Plymouth has identified warming center locations for residents who may need a safe, heated space during the storm. Residents are encouraged to check local town resources for specific locations and operating hours.
The Plymouth Fire Department advises everyone to stay informed, limit unnecessary travel during severe conditions, and check on vulnerable neighbors as the storm approaches.
Updates will be provided as conditions develop.
