PLYMOUTH COUNTY, Mass. (plimoth)— The Plymouth County 911 Emergency Communication Center has received a statewide public safety award recognizing its outstanding service, teamwork, and coordination in emergency response.
The center, operated by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, was honored with the APCO International “Team/Group of the Year” award, a distinction given to emergency communications teams that demonstrate excellence under pressure and a strong commitment to public safety.
Officials said the award highlights the critical role dispatchers play as the first point of contact during emergencies, coordinating police, fire, and medical responders across Plymouth County. The center was praised for its professionalism, collaboration, and ability to manage high-stress situations while ensuring timely and effective responses.
