Body Recovered from Nantasket Beach; Death Investigation Underway
HULL, Mass. — Authorities are investigating after an elderly man was found floating in the water at Nantasket Beach on Wednesday evening.
According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, emergency crews responded to the popular South Shore beach after receiving a report of an unresponsive person in the water. The man was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent drowning.
The victim has been identified as 76-year-old Robert Nolan of Hull. Officials say there are no signs of foul play, and the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken custody of the body as the investigation continues.
Investigators were seen at the beach Wednesday night, with crime scene tape blocking one of the beach access points while authorities processed the scene.

The investigation remains active, though officials have indicated the death appears to be the result of an accidental drowning. More information will be released if it becomes available
