
Lakeville Mass-A quiet Saturday afternoon in turned tense after a suspicious device discovered near Egger Bog Pond was confirmed to be a PVC pipe bomb.
According to the , officers responded to the area of Highland Road around 12:38 p.m. after someone reported finding what appeared to be an explosive device near the water.
Police quickly secured the area and called in the to investigate. After examining the object, bomb technicians confirmed it was a PVC pipe bomb and safely disposed of it at the scene.
No one was hurt, and officials said there is no ongoing danger to the public. Still, the discovery shocked many in the normally quiet area as emergency vehicles and investigators surrounded the pond during the response.

Authorities have not said who may have left the device there or whether it was intended to harm anyone. The investigation remains active, and police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives.
