PLYMOUTH, MA (plimoth)— A Massachusetts State Police trooper was arrested in Plymouth following a serious domestic violence incident. Trooper Joseph Ward, 25, was taken into custody after authorities say he allegedly assaulted a dating partner and threatened her with knives and a firearm.
The incident reportedly occurred on January 10, 2026, at the couple’s shared apartment. Prosecutors allege Ward forced the victim to call out of work, blocked her from leaving, physically assaulted her, and threatened her with multiple kitchen knives and a loaded pistol. When the victim tried to escape, Ward allegedly chased and tackled her.
Ward was arraigned in Plymouth District Court and is currently being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for February 2, 2026.
